Neck pain? Try this exercise anytime, anywhere (Spiritual Hygiene Episode 2)

Modern trauma research shows that something that happened decades ago can appear as a physical symptom in the body, even decades later.

This is something that many healing traditions have understood for centuries–  behind physical symptoms exists an energetic/emotional component.

Both the physical and the energetic need to be addressed to fully heal.

Today’s Spiritual Hygiene episode features a question from Jill, who noticed neck pain arise as she’s processing some deep childhood trauma.

What could the connection be?

Of course it varies on a case-by-case basis, but, in general, a person who experiences significant childhood trauma likely didn’t feel safe to speak up.

So now the voice and the throat are fighting to become liberated, but the fear around what that means manifests as neck pain.

Check out this week’s episode for a simple exercise to ease neck tension, plus a supportive practice to nurture your throat chakra.
